I bought this car new in 96. I had the plain jane model with a 5 speed. Very reliable never had anything go wrong with it.I sold it with 235000 miles and it still had original clutch and alternator WOW! the struts were the most expensive maintenance, tires were dirt cheap.Averaged 34mpg.I wish i could buy another new one right now. This car payed for itself many times over!!! It never used a drop of oil while i owned it.

    • Excellent, Reliable Transportation

I bought this car new to be my "station" car. In 14 years it only has 50,000 miles. But it has been a real trooper. Never a problem with it that required servicing. Just basic maintenance. Needs snow tires in bad weather. It's very light so gets blown about by big trucks on the highway. But it's peppy, handles well and is very maneuverable. It gets 32 mpg highway, which is pretty good for an older car. It's not a fancy car by any stretch and isn't that good looking. But if you want safe, reliable transportation that handles well and that's easy on fuel, I don't think you can't do much better. My best friend actually bought one too after my recommendation and he's been happy with his too.
